Our Story · Established 2010
Humble Beginnings, Shared Purpose in South Atlanta
The Islamic Society of South Atlanta (ISSA) was established in 2010 in Stockbridge, Georgia. Our beginning was humble and deeply purposeful: for years, Muslim elders, young professionals, and families gathered to pray in one another's homes and rented spaces for Eid.
As the Muslim population across Henry County and South Atlanta blossomed, the community united to establish a dedicated masjid and community center despite limited financial resources. Today, all Muslims living in the South Atlanta area are welcomed as part of the ISSA family.
Our vision is to nurture faith, brotherhood, sisterhood, and service through congregational worship, accessible Quranic education, charitable relief, and warm neighborly care.
